Backstory

How did we get here? Well at some point he'd had enough, and Rich Garrahan decided to ditch his suit and tie to build his own little slice of heaven.  Rich envisioned a place where his worries were left at the door. He wanted what a lot of us want at one time or another: He wanted an escape. For him, that means a big backyard with tons of yard games, plenty of homemade craft beer, and a never-ending cookout where the burgers are as good as the conversation.

This beery utopia also needed to be a place our people (laid back people that take as much joy in hosting as they do in getting the most out of life) would love to work for and be proud to show off. Seven years later, we have three such slices of heaven dedicated to crafting great brews and tasty food in a spot that was made to connect and unwind.

Our Own Backyards

Lewes, DE  - est. 2015

Following our hearts led us to create the first Crooked Hammock. Our goal? To capture that perfect backyard feeling. Imagine this: sunshine, an easy-drinking craft beer brewed right there in our 7-barrel brewhouse, the aroma of grilling food, and a hammock gently swaying in the breeze as friends play cornhole and ping-pong. That's the feeling we wanted to share. It's the perfect spot to kick back, eat, drink, and hang out with family and friends.

Middletown, DE  - est. 2019

Our Middletown location is where we took our backyard vision to the next level, with multiple unique gathering spaces, inviting covered porch dining and a bustling 15-barrel brewhouse and taproom. The expansive backyard is a playground for fun, boasting hammocks, two bocce courts, two horseshoe pits, numerous cornhole sets, a kids' playset, and a large fire pit – proving that Middletown truly knows how to backyard!

North Myrtle Beach, SC  - est. 2021

Nestled in Barefoot Landing, our Myrtle Beach location is a coastal escape and our first adventure beyond Delaware. Step into Brewer’s Alley and discover our 30-barrel brew system and lively taproom. Enjoy a wraparound backyard with scenic water views and a vibrant beer garden, complete with hammocks, cornhole, ping pong, and bocce. Follow the walkway to Tortuga Island, for food and drinks at the on-water bar built around a tree trunk with swing seats.
